Terms of service

Last updated: 18 May 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of grammarbot.app (“the Service”), operated by GrammarBot (“we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the Service

The Service is provided free of charge. You may use it for personal, educational, and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal activity
  • Submit content that infringes third-party rights
  • Attempt to disrupt, abuse, or reverse-engineer the Service
  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or excessive automated requests
  • Resell, white-label, or commercially redistribute the Service without written permission

2. Accounts

You may create an account to save analyses and access personalized features. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to text you analyze with the Service. We do not claim ownership over your content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your text only to provide the analysis features you request, and only for the duration required.

Saved analyses (stored when you click “Save” while signed in) are stored in your account and visible only to you, until you delete them.

4. Intellectual property

The Service’s name, branding, UI, code, and content (excluding your submitted text) are owned by GrammarBot. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service’s code or branding without written permission.

The readability formulas implemented in the Service (Flesch, SMOG, Coleman-Liau, etc.) are public domain mathematical formulas.

5. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Readability scores are estimates, not absolutes. Use them as guidance, not as authoritative measurements. Grammar suggestions are machine-generated by rule-based engines and may be incorrect. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

6. Affiliate links

The Service includes affiliate links to third-party products (Surfer SEO, Frase, Grammarly, ProWritingAid, etc.). We earn a commission if you purchase through these links. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content or recommendations.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrammarBot is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed $100 USD.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violations of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from your dashboard.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the site or by email. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved by the competent courts of the operator’s jurisdiction.
